adequate stay with some drawbacks

smoke smell bare floorboards
the stone house had a certain appeal.
The room reeked of smoke. I found that quite unpleasant. the bare floorboards amplified every footstep from the room above, a real nuisance, especially late at night. plus, no views at all from the room added to the disappointment.
