dated hotel with issues

blunt staff poor food quality
The reception staff seemed rather blunt. i felt they barely acknowledged me. the food for dinner lacked quality and came out too quickly. it seemed pre-made given the theme night. the beer taps were also initially off, then back on later. This whole thing just didn't sit right with me.

Quiet Location with Excellent Service

friendly staff quiet location clean room
The staff are very friendly and happy to help with anything needed. The location is quiet, only a short walk from the village. I found the rooms to be basic, BUT very clean. The food was AMAZING!!! I praise the chefs who are a credit to this hotel.
I found that having to book a specific time for breakfast was somewhat unusual. I believe it is how the hotel manages coach parties. the room was nice and neat enough.
Service
9/10
The staff provided efficient and quick service in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and accommodating to all guests. They were very cute to guests traveling with dogs.
Location
9/10
The hotel benefits from a rural setting surrounded by lovely countryside. A path runs behind the hotel alongside a river. It is a short walk to the village.

inconvenient plug location terrible noise insulation
The lack of available outlets in the room was a real pain. I could only find one double plug, and it was inconveniently placed near the so-called dressing table (a joke really). This meant juggling between charging my phone, powering the only lamp, and using the kettle. the room's noise insulation was terrible. I could hear every footstep and conversation from the room above, hard to relax.
