large surcharge expensive food
the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with a heated towel rail and a good shower.
the food was not good, and the steak had a large surcharge. starters are excellent, but desserts are poor. there were also surcharges for foods that felt extortionate. i found it all a bit disappointing as it is really expensive.

friendly staff room upgrade wide selection unfriendly receptionist cold room high price
The staff was friendly and cute. I even got an unexpected room upgrade upon arrival. The bar had a wide selection. It was well stocked and the staff were knowledgeable (i appreciated their recommendations).
the receptionist was not very friendly. there was no warm welcome, just perfunctory service. the room was quite cold upon arrival. the room was overpriced, i think.

adequate stay

great location highlight breakfast dated decor room view
the location is great. it is very central to everything (easy to walk around!). breakfast was also a real highlight of my stay, i enjoyed it!
The decor definitely feels like it needs an update. the room view wasn't the best. I overlooked an external fire escape (bit of a letdown there).

Historic Charm and Excellent Service

coffee facilities wide choice expert guides
The room had great amenities. It included tea and coffee facilities that were restocked daily. The breakfast offered a wide choice. It prepared me for the day, I really did not need lunch! I found the staff helpful, they also gave me advice on local wildlife spotting opportunities. The welcome I received was warm.
I noticed that the menu lacked some variety during my week-long stay. I think it would benefit from more frequent changes. That being SAID, I did enjoy the food.
Rooms
9/10
The room featured a bed that ensured a good night's sleep, and cleanliness was perfect. The overall size of the room suited my needs. It offered enough space to relax and unwind after a long day.
Facilities
8/10
The location provided easy access to local shops. I found that very convenient. The hotel boasts historical features. They add to its unique charm and create a nice experience. The pleasant atmosphere throughout the hotel was noticeable.
