The rooms are Fine with en suite bathrooms. The staff are very attentive. The hotel is refurbished. It is great to have this hotel in town.
The bar area could be larger when locals visit, as seating fills quickly.

The room included specialist teas, ground coffee and biscuits, with all items locally sourced. Dressing robes and slippers are provided, found only in classy establishments. A writing bureau includes a pen and notepad.

HIGHLY recommend this GEM!

The staff was EXCELLENT. The hotel is very well furnished. It is also very clean. The breakfast was VERY good and Mary offered excellent service (breakfast!).

the shower temperature fluctuated significantly water pressure was weak i expected a consistently hot shower given the hotel's reputation the room also lacked sufficient sound insulation i could clearly hear conversations from adjacent rooms

Really good Stay, Stylish Decor and Friendly Service

helpful staff early check-in room location
I found the staff to be great . They accommodated my early check-in request. The room location was also amended for my elderly parents. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I really appreciated it.
A day after I checked out, I received a phone call from the hotel. They claimed that I had damaged a throw. They also stated they would directly take money from my credit card for dry cleaning.

The hotel decor is excellent. There was a big dog park right outside the hotel, I found that to be really convenient. It also provided easy access to a pleasant walk leading to the beach.

The food is delicious, especially the steak pie. Breakfast was also delicious with a good variety. I also enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Piv bar and grill, it was also delicious.

The staff is lovely and always eager to help, I noticed always with a smile. They welcomed us with professionalism and a great deal of warmth. They accompanied us to the room with all the explanations to enjoy the stay.

the location was ideal. ample parking spaces were available. it was also close to a large park. the staff provided really good service. i found the accommodation most agreeable. the food offered was excellent. the staff were friendly. the position was perfect for visiting dumfries house. i was delighted with the overall experience. breakfast was delicious and fresh. our room was very comfortable. the food was both excellent and a good value. we were greeted with a warm welcome upon our arrival. friendly, professional staff cared for us well. the dinner service was a delight. the bed provided unmatched comfort. the staff were friendly.
