ACCEPTABLE stay OVERALL
beautiful room helpful staff delicious breakfast high thermostat missing amenities worn mattress
The room was beautiful! It was warm and clean with everything we needed AND more. It was my anniversary and I asked if we could send balloons and banners for the staff to set up in our room for our arrival. They did it beautifully.. THE staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was also delicious, 10/10!
We stayed at the guesthouse expecting a premium experience, but unfortunately, it missed the mark in several fundamental ways. When we arrived, the thermostat was set to 26°C. Basic amenities were also lacking.. There was NO hand soap in the room just a wall-mounted body wash dispenser in the shower. The mattress was worn out and sagging.

high-quality fittings beautiful furnishings spacious room
the breakfast was superb i appreciated the high-quality fittings in my room the furnishings were beautiful. the path was gritted there was sleet falling this ensured safety i really liked that. the room was spacious i could easily relax after a day of exploring.
the towels were smaller than i expected, but that's a very minor detail.

small towels missing tissue
The room lacked attention to detail. The provided towels were noticeably small. There was also no facial tissue available. This was disappointing, as these are basic provisions I expect from a hotel advertising itself as high standard. I was forced to use paper towels from the bathroom for personal hygiene.

oak beams glass french doors walk in shower high thermostat midge swarm blackout blinds
the room 'silver birch' was nicely decorated with a modern scottish twist. it had exposed oak beams and glass french doors led to a patio. a massive bathroom was also present with a walk in shower and scottish toiletries were available.
the thermostat was set to 26°c and the room was very hot. opening the windows was not an option as we were swarmed by midges. the absence of proper blackout blinds made sleeping difficult since the sun blinded at 4 am.

I found James friendly upon arrival. He gave a thorough explanation of the room and our stay. The 'Silver Birch' room had a modern Scottish design with exposed oak beams..
I noticed the lack of facial tissue in the room. There was also no body lotion provided for use. The towels were very small, and there was no flannel available..
