Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Laird And Dog Inn provides guests with clean and pleasant rooms, some featuring new beds and wide-screen TVs, along with excellent breakfast options freshly cooked. Its location is ideal for accessing Edinburgh, with a bus stop right outside offering a direct route to the city centre, including Princes Street and the Royal Mile. Guests appreciate the Inn's preserved 1700s period features, such as wood archways and dynasty paintings; although a few guests have noted that some rooms could be considered small. With a good menu in the restaurant and a lively atmosphere in the bar, it's also appreciated for having plenty of free parking.

small sink unstable bed
The bathroom sink was ridiculously small. i struggled to use the taps properly, it wasn't adult-sized at all. the bed felt unstable. It moved whenever i sat on it, it was quite disconcerting.. also, breakfast was a letdown, the food quality seemed poor for the price. my toast was burnt, and i had to send it back.

adequate stay, some drawbacks

small room kitchen ventilation
the room i was assigned was rather small, a definite constraint on comfort. maneuvering around my luggage proved difficult. furthermore, a persistent noise from what sounded like kitchen ventilation was quite bothersome, especially during the night. i found it hard to relax properly.
