Good Stay with Excellent Local Produce

fresh produce helpful staff fine views
The food was excellent. They use local fresh produce. The staff and barman were very helpful. I found the lodge tastefully decorated, which suits the building. I also enjoyed the historical aspects. River views from the lodge were fine.
The restaurant and bar lacked atmosphere. The breakfast menu was a bit sparse. I thought the porridge was horrible!
Rooms
9/10
The room was spotlessly clean. Furnishings and decor were tastefully selected. The bathroom was immaculate, including both a bath and a separate walk-in shower.
Service
10/10
All staff members were friendly. Staff were also helpful. All produce is sourced as locally as possible. The sausages, made in their own butchery, were especially delicious.

Adequate Hotel Visit

lovely garden private parking muddy carpark flight stair
My room was spacious and very clean. The provided dishes and cutlery were sterilized. This was reassuring. The accommodation had direct access to a lovely garden and private parking was included. I liked it.
The car park was muddy. It was covered in lakes. The room was across the carpark and up a flight of stairs. First impressions were not good.
