Romantic Highland Retreat
thoughtful styling soft bed local knowledge
The mansion had thoughtful styling. Our room was spacious and the bed was very soft. The in-room facilities were top notch! Mark took us on the moonlight tour and showed us hidden gems. His local knowledge was fantastic.
The steep driveway had unevenness in the surface. This does need addressing.

Breakfast was already in our room. The selection was perfect, though some fresh fruit and bread would improve it. Instant porridge was available instead of fresh porridge. This could be better.

Key and instructions were in their own bag at the door. This was a great touch. The owner was seen briefly in the morning and gave a friendly wave. A proper greeting would be appreciated.

The downstairs of the main house was immaculate. The lodge is very atmospheric with a library and a log fire place. I wish I had more time to curl up with a good book. The setting was cozy!

excellent bedding gas hob clear instructions
The bed had excellent quality bedding. A 2 burner gas hob allowed light cooking. clear instructions helped use amenities. The location reminded me of being in the trees. We were happy to be comfortable.
Breakfast felt basic. A few small touches would greatly improve it.

the lodge has a very nice atmosphere, including a library and a log fireplace. mark led our moonlight tour, showcasing local hidden gems (i liked this the most). the level of his local knowledge was amazing.
i noticed the croissants provided for breakfast had been previously frozen.
