service area view late night noise
The room faced the back of the building. This meant the view consisted primarily of the service area (this was disappointing). I also found the noise from the nearby pub extended late into the night. Sleep was difficult at times despite the provided earplugs (I made use of them).

Absolutely WONDERFUL stay!
helpful staff many options relaxed atmosphere
The staff were helpful and friendly. I felt right at home. Breakfast offered MANY options, and the cooked breakfast was excellent. The bar had a relaxed atmosphere, so it was great for unwinding after a long day.
The WiFi signal was a little weak at times. THOUGH it wasn't a major issue.

The location is superb. It's very close to local amenities. I found the Islay museum was not far. The position of the hotel makes it easy to explore the island and Jura.

My room was smart and had been recently refurbished. IT was VERY comfortable. The bed was well aired. A relaxed atmosphere made for a good night's sleep.

The family that runs the hotel are interesting, supportive, and friendly. Before I arrived, they helped me with dinner reservations. They boxed up my breakfast, which I FOUND SO helpful.

The hotel has an really good bar with all the whiskies of Islay. I enjoyed the extensive selection of breakfast items available. It was a fabulous stay.

convenient charger milk option unique theme shower pressure
the room offered convenient phone chargers on each bedside table I found multiple options for coffee and milk provided the room's decor had unique themes for added character the shower pressure was powerful and very refreshing. staff boxed breakfast for an early ferry, they helped with luggage and showed great kindness i deeply appreciated it. the delicious breakfast included salmon offered good choices i liked it.
the noise from the bar below the room continued past midnight this was a small issue.

really good family hospitality
cute atmosphere early breakfast forgotten bags
the hotel is run by a multigenerational family creating a cute atmosphere. they assisted with dinner reservations before my arrival. the family boxed up breakfast for me when i needed to leave early for the ferry. one of them even chased after my car to return bags i had forgotten
the room above the bar had some noise late into the night
