Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Royal Hotel's central Stornoway location makes it ideal, offering easy access to the harbour and castle views from some rooms, with parking being readily available. Guests frequently praise the dining options, including Stornoway black pudding at breakfast and restaurant meals, even if the Boatshed occasionally runs out of the catch of the day. Many find the rooms spacious and comfortable, although a few guests have noted that some single rooms can feel a bit small or the beds too narrow.

Acceptable stay with some issues

small room limited choice
The location allowed for easy access to the harbour area.
The room I received was smaller than expected. It overlooked the car park. People could easily see inside. The room was noisy. Breakfast lacked choices. Porridge was not readily available, and I had to pay extra for breakfast when I assumed it was included.

the bed moved when I sat on it. it also was too narrow. a table with a frame made it hard to push the chair in and took up space.
