Guests consistently praise the Argyll Hotel's stunning location and views, particularly from the restaurant overlooking the beach towards Islay, Jura and Gigha, where memorable sunsets can be observed. The rooms, while considered compact by some, are tastefully decorated, comfortable, and well-equipped, with some offering sea views and gigantic bathrooms with walk-in showers. The hotel's restaurant is a highlight, serving delicious meals, including tasty BBQ chicken wings and haddock and chips; though a few guests have found specific dishes like the Argyll Burger to be bland.
