lovely waterside stay
great location canal view community kitchen
the location was great with canal basin views. tea, coffee, and biscuits were provided in the room. a well-equipped community kitchen was available on the ground floor. local walks along the forth and clyde canal towpath and a disused railway were nearby.

the breakfast room offers a self-service setup with coffee, tea, bread, and cereals. this area functions as a communal lounge as well. it allowed guests to prepare simple meals and snacks at their convenience.

cold room insufficient heating
the experience i had wasn't the best. the room felt very cold with original wooden windows. these windows let all the cold air right in, and i had to block it with a towel. the heating wasn't enough to keep the room warm, it felt awful.

Adequate Stay, But Some Issues Existed
drafty window cold shower
The room was clean enough, a detail I suppose I can appreciate.
The window let in a draft, this made the room cold. I used a towel to block it, a poor solution to a basic problem. The hot water ran out during my shower. I had to finish with cold water.

kitchen area scenic walks dog-friendly
i liked that the hotel rooms are equipped with a kitchen area. i found a fridge, microwave, and kettle that i used. the location next to the canal provided scenic walks. dogs were welcome, a great bonus for traveling with pets.

the hotel features a shared kitchen. it included equipment for preparing simple meals. there is also a cafe a short walk away, WHICH opens at 10am and gives you even more options.

the access is managed via key codes, offering flexibility. this is very convenient, especially for late arrivals. entry arrangements are more like self-catering, WHICH suited my travel style.

convenient location helpful housekeeper secure parking multiple key codes unauthorized access missing key
the location is convenient, with access to loch lomond. the housekeepers were especially helpful. they gave excellent suggestions for local attractions. i also appreciated the secure parking provided.
access to the hotel required navigating multiple key codes, a bit cumbersome. someone accessed my allocated room. then they removed the key, disconcerting. i noticed the cleaning staff were aware of the issue and planned to report it to management.

clean room large bed kitchen area no staff missing codes review request
The room was very clean I appreciated that detail. The bed was large I slept soundly. A kitchen area provided a space to sit and enjoy the views it was very useful.
I found no staff on site. The access required codes I had not received them initially. The owner contacted me requesting I reconsider my review I found this uncomfortable.
