The location is a short drive to nearby attractions. Staff accommodated requests. Dinner was really nice. The ladies public toilets were very excellent.

tranquil abbey stay

spacious room beautiful grounds
Our room was large and included a seating area by the window with a garden view. the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed walks by the river and views of the abbey. breakfast in the upstairs restaurant was excellent, with hot food cooked to order (especially the eggs!).
The room showed some wear, i noticed a few water marks on the pelmet. Some updates could enhance the overall experience.

the beautiful double room featured a large window seating area and provided a pleasant view of the grounds. the room had ample space and included comfortable seating arrangements for relaxation. some signs of wear were noticeable but did not detract significantly from the stay.

the upstairs restaurant offered a delicious breakfast with hot food prepared to order each morning. the bistro downstairs served very good meals on both evenings of my visit. the service was prompt and the food quality was consistently high.

the hotel grounds are really nice for a walk. the staff was wonderful and very helpful too. i enjoyed a luxury stay for three nights there.
the room was a bit chilly. i wanted to stay longer though..

The location next to the river and abbey was ACCEPTABLE. Staff were cheerful and helpful
The stairs had a stale, MUSTY smell, and the carpet at the top was stained, giving arriving guests a bad impression. The room felt Stark. There were no pretty additional furnishings like pictures or flowers

the room had a spacious layout (i stayed in the abbey twin or double room). the breakfast included smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and i found it delicious. i appreciated that the hotel allows dogs.
the hotel bar was a bit noisy at times.
