clean room efficient staff uncomfortable bed thin walls
the staff were fast. they were efficient too. the room was very comfy and tidy. dinner had plenty of choice on the menu (i enjoyed it).
the bed was not comfortable. i could hear the guest next door snoring all night. the walls seemed thin. it was a shame.

i spent five nights here. richard, the owner, ensured my comfort. i really enjoyed the tasty breakfasts. the pub was snug with a cozy vibe.
the bed was not especially comfortable, and i could hear sounds from the adjacent room.

wonderful stay!

friendly staff generous portions clean room
The staff were super friendly and gave great service. i cannot sing their praises high enough! dinner was fantastic with generous portions and very reasonably priced. It was good enough that i came back the following afternoon for lunch. the rooms were very comfy and tidy and reasonably priced.
i was allocated a top floor attic room. it was quite a struggle going up and down because i have osteoarthritis in both knees.

i found the staff to be very friendly and helpful . my evening meal had a wide selection with a generous portion (i especially liked the fish and chips!). the location proved perfect for exploring nearby historic sites. breakfast set me up well for the day ahead.
the walls seemed a little thin as i could hear some noise from other guests.

musty smell room refresh
the room i had was quite outdated. i noticed some dampness, and there was a definite musty smell. it wasn't overwhelming, but it was certainly noticeable. i think a refresh of the rooms would make a big difference (especially since everything else was good).

dated room stained carpet
breakfast was included and was freshly made to order.
the room was very dated, some of the ceiling painted over but the rest still yellowy. the wallpaper is coming off the walls, the carpet is stained and the toilet is carpeted too. there was no hot water from the sink tap even though i let it run for a while.
