helpful receptionist and great location

helpful receptionist great location quiet atmosphere
i am a cyclist and arrived late. i was injured by a fall earlier that day. the night receptionist was very helpful, he carried my bike upstairs to my room and made sure i was ok before leaving. the location proved great. it was very quiet too.
the paint work looked awful with purple, yellow, and red colors. it added to the dreary atmosphere. the room felt small and cramped with dark walls and curtains. it also felt freezing.
Facilities
8/10
the hotel provides free wifi throughout the building and in all rooms. a basic breakfast is available each morning in the dining area (i had the continental option).
Service
10/10
the staff offered assistance with luggage and directions (much appreciated). the reception operates 24 hours a day. i found them responsive to requests (especially with my bike!).

the decor felt a little outdated.

a decidedly average stay.

scalding shower stained towels
The central location proved useful for getting around. I'll give them that.
I must say. the shower was a nightmare. It alternated between scalding hot and freezing cold. there was no in-between setting! also. the cleanliness left much to be desired. I spotted some questionable stains on the towels and the bathroom tiles seemed to be having a competition to see who could come loose first.
