The staff were very helpful. It was a positive.
The room was quite small, and some photos seemed misleading, presenting a larger space. This discrepancy affected the overall feel.

Solid stay

friday dinner scottish breakfast friendly staff
The dinner on Friday night offered great value. Breakfast included a full scottish with delicious black pudding. Staff members during breakfast and dinner were friendly and eager to assist..
I noticed a slight issue in the bathroom of my room. There seemed to be some dampness behind the cistern, which warrants attention.
Rooms

The family room had comfortable beds with crisp white bedding. Decor was nice, and it included all essential amenities for a pleasant stay. Soundproofing could improve as street noise was audible due to single-glazed windows.

The staff provided great hospitality from arrival to departure. They accommodated requests such as swapping potatoes for chips. The landlady even prepared special baby guinness drinks, showing attentiveness.
Dining

The restaurant served generous portions of well-cooked food. I had chicken breast stuffed with haggis and whisky sauce, paired with home-cooked chips. Breakfast choices were varied and satisfying..

The hotel includes outside space with a bar, convenient. There is also a convenient car park provided . Secure storage space for bikes is available, great for cyclists.

high standard friendly staff missing instructions slamming door
The room was cleaned to a very high standard daily (I really appreciated that). Breakfast was great, and I enjoyed the generous portion sizes. I found the staff friendly and polite. Dinner was excellent. All food tasted fresh.
The heater lacked instructions, and the room was cold on both nights. I was located in the annex at the front of the building. I heard the doors slam each time another guest came and went, as they were unable to operate a door correctly.

Average Stay, Issues Noted

thin walls basic room
I found a FEW things less than ideal. My room was located in a building across the street from the main hotel. This required stepping outside for meals. The room itself felt quite basic and lacked sufficient storage. The walls seemed thin, and noise from other rooms was audible. Breakfast was included though.
