ample space river view comfortable bed
the river suite offered ample space. it included a well-sized bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge, and a kitchen. the view of the river was a highlight. the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable.
The welcome experience upon arrival could use some improvement. I would have appreciated help with my luggage.

the hotel provides electrical hookups for evs, a convenient feature. the hotel is next to the ninth river, with a quiet and soothing experience with the sound of flowing water. gardens and a greenhouse are on the premises.

riverside retreat

italian chef fresh vegetables
the location was very quiet near the river nith. watching the sheep and lambs across the river was lovely. the owner is an italian chef so i ate every meal at the hotel . he grows vegetables in his garden and greenhouse so everything was fresh.
i noticed my bathroom would benefit from an update in the near future.

the breakfast had good quality produce.
I found communication poor. I had to chase them for confirmation. i also considered the bed very hard, and the pillows did not aid a comfortable night.

delicious breakfast maintained condition
the breakfast was delicious it featured quality ingredients and just the right amount. the hotel offered a compact snipe room that was suitable for my one-night stay. i found the elemis toiletries nice. i also appreciated the well kept condition of the hotel.

the suite had a lovely river view, it was awesome! it included a good-sized bedroom, lounge, bathroom, and kitchen. the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom areas were clean, i must say. the bed was comfortable!

whirlpool bath helpful staff uncomfy bed sparsely furnished
The Grouse room includes a whirlpool bath, something I use after long day of exploration. The food was great and always cooked when ordered for both dinner and breakfast. All staff were cheerful and helped when needed.
The river room was like a youth hostel. It felt function was more important than it looked. The bed was not comfy enough.
