lovely stay with great views!
ensuite bathroom fine view excellent food
it was very very comfy and tidy. it had everything i needed for a night. tea and coffee were available in the sitting room. Breakfast porridge pot was also provided! the views over the beach were fine, and the pub with excellent food was only a 5 min walk.
The directions and signage were not good. I struggled to find the house because there was no exterior light! the room was left open without anyone to check in with me, and that felt unsafe.

mixed bag stay
faulty kettle lacking amenities
the view was acceptable it overlooked the loch.
the room lacked basic amenities like a tv and a proper place to hang clothes i found that rather inconvenient. the communal kettle seemed faulty requiring constant resetting. directions were only sent via email a problem since i had no signal upon arrival leading to initial confusion about check in.

basic stay, some drawbacks
the host met me at the door. it was a very simple thing, but it met my expectations.
I found a significant issue with the kettle. it did not work correctly in the communal area. You had to keep switching it on, bothersome.

scottish history sound advice comfortable place
the owner knew a lot about scottish history. he also gave me plenty of advice about what to see around the island. the place was well equipped and comfortable.
there was no listing anywhere of any wi-fi code.

Underwhelming Stay
sound insulation basic breakfast
I found the room quite disappointing. There was a noticeable lack of sound insulation. I could clearly hear conversations and movements from other rooms, and this disrupted my sleep. The provided breakfast was very basic with limited fresh options. It did not meet my expectations given the price.

island history history material comfortable room thin duvet coffee facilities
the host made island history material AVAILABLE. the room proved COMFORTABLE. it was very clean. the views were tremendous.
there WAS no heating in the room. the duvet on the bed seemed thin. there were no tea or coffee making facilities. the DIY breakfast did not compensate for a cold night.
