Dalwhinnie Old School Hostel is situated in Cairngorms National Park, directly opposite the train station. Popular hiking trails and the famous Dalwhinnie Distillery are nearby. The hostel serves as a base for climbing Munros, cycling along the N7 route, or visiting Skye and the North Coast 500.

The hostel occupies a former village primary school and schoolhouse, set within an acre of grounds. It includes a well-equipped kitchen and two common room areas equipped with a large log burner. Modern facilities cater primarily to backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Dalwhinnie Old School Hostel offers diverse room options with a total of 25 beds. Guests can choose a double room, a twin or double room, two 6-bed dorms, and a 10-bed dorm. Shared dorms are available from £23 per person, with private dorms also offered for groups.

The well-equipped kitchen includes two double ovens and eight ceramic hobs for meal preparation. Two microwaves, two kettles, and ample utensils make cooking convenient for guests. This communal space emphasizes group cooking and dining experiences.
