Each of the 26 rooms is individually decorated and named after Shetland islands, such as Foula (the Laird's double bedroom) and Vaila (with exposed 17th-century stonework). The Vaila room offers a huge free-standing bath and separate shower, while the Foula room has a deep bath and a large walk-in shower. Rooms include views of the garden or Busta Voe, and some have been recently renovated with new bathrooms.

The hotel provides a children's menu with smaller portions, half-portion options for adults, and board games and puzzles in the communal areas. Families can use the large family rooms, such as the one where dogs are allowed but not in the restaurant.
