Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Columba House is often praised for its convenient location near local shops and restaurants, as well as its proximity to the Cairngorms National Park, making it ideal for exploring. Guests appreciate the spacious rooms, some of which, like the Paddock room, offer private entrances and useful amenities such as a microwave, fridge and coffee machine. The ease of parking and self-check-in are commonly noted benefits, although some guests have found the arrival process somewhat impersonal. Many enjoyed the pastries and cereals available for breakfast, and the quiet, peaceful surroundings, while others liked the penthouse suite with a kitchenette, a big bathtub and a walk-in shower.

broken flush poor breakfast
the lack of staff was unsettling for the four days i stayed. arriving, i found the toilet's flush broken a good surprise no one bothered to check. contacting staff was a task. i learned fixing it had to wait until the next day that's customer service for you! the breakfast wasn't advertised much so my expectations were already low. however what was provided hardly qualifies as a three-star experience. the bathroom cleanliness also left something to be desired

wow factor warm bed
The room had a nice wow factor when i first walked in. i really loved the haribos. It was a tender touch. the bed was also really warm and cute, a perfect end to a long day.
there were no staff to be seen anywhere, and the keysafe fob didn't work for the first few minutes. it felt outdated!

the room featured a four poster bed i found beautiful. a sizeable bathroom. i appreciated the classic style, particularly the fine views from the room. location was quiet, a plus, away from the main road and easy to access.
i found the hot water situation slightly inconvenient, and the messaging implied a possible misunderstanding about tap usage.
