Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Guests consistently praise the themed rooms, such as the Peter and Wendy room, offering a unique experience that reflects Wigtown's literary charm. The breakfasts are a highlight, with cooked-to-order options and generous portions, including black pudding that many guests enjoyed. Some found the location on a hill presented a slight parking challenge. However, the comfortable rooms with provisions like fresh milk in a fridge on the landing, combined with amenities such as good Wi-Fi and a guest lounge, make for a relaxing stay, and it is conveniently located near Wigtown's bookshops.

satisfactory accommodation

onsite parking guest lounge fresh milk hill location early breakfast missing iron
onsite parking was convenient. the room included shampoo, body wash and cotton wool (i found this very useful). a comfortable guest lounge was available. fresh milk was in a fridge on the landing.
the hotel sat on a hill. i could not locate anyone to ask for an iron. breakfast times ran too early, 7 am to 8 am (perhaps extending it till 9 am would help).

the house is beautiful. the room had nice little touches like a shower cap. shampoo, conditioner, and body wash came in a shower dispenser. i found a hairdryer, a sewing kit, and a first aid kit in the drawer.
