the building had original features and was well maintained. the swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna were decent sized and in good condition.
The hotel could use some updating. It shows some wear and tear.

a romantic escape
festive reception warm room tasty breakfast on-site parking
i found the reception area beautifully decorated with christmas lights. it really added a festive feel to our arrival. the double room was comfortably warm, a blessing in december (i always feel the cold!). we enjoyed a tasty breakfast with all the usual trimmings. the on-site parking made things simple.
the bathroom extractor fan was not working.

The front desk staff were helpful. They provided clear directions. The pub had extended hours, it allowed us to unwind after sightseeing. I found the free parking a great convenience. It made exploring the area easier.

Superb Central Hotel Experience!
sunny courtyard ample parking delicious haggis
I found the location ideal for walking to the castle. The private courtyard was a sunny delight, offering a relaxing spot. Parking had ample spaces available. I did enjoy the haggis served at breakfast. It was AMAZING!!!
The shower was hard to adjust.

The leisure facilities included a pool with dedicated hours for families. This was great. the free on-site parking simplified our outings. breakfast was abundant with many options available. I especially liked the fresh fruit selection. the staff swiftly addressed a minor issue with our room lighting. the traditional scottish decor added character. We loved the ambiance.
The shower temperature fluctuated a little. It was a minor inconvenience, but noticeable.
