underwhelming stay with some issues

dated room breakfast disaster
the pool, steam room and sauna were clean. (always a plus!)
I booked two rooms. the exterior needs rendering. my wife and i's double room was large since we had our dog, but i paid an extra £20 for this, and i don't know what for. breakfast was a disaster. We waited for toast that arrived after we finished our food.

claire at reception checked us in quickly and guided us to our room. the room included adequate clothes storage. the gym is well equipped and i found the pool, steam room and sauna relaxing.
The bar area wasn't very cute. prices were higher (i found that prices were inflated generally). room cleanliness wasn't great. There were dirty cups, and used coffee pods were not replenished.

The staff was very helpful. We had a delicious breakfast with a good variety of options. The hotel is surrounded by greenery, offering a quiet and restful place. I found ample parking available and the location convenient for accessing nearby attractions..
I noticed some areas could benefit from refurbishment.

The staff was friendly and helpful. the grounds were beautiful, perfect for a morning stroll. i found the shower good. Water pressure was strong.
the room felt quite dated. i noticed some condensation on the windows in the morning. also, drinks from the bar seemed overpriced, a pint and a wine costing almost £19.

fantastic stay near edinburgh

cute team tender shank refurbished shower
the reception team was very cute upon arrival. i enjoyed a relaxing beer before dinner. the lamb rogan josh, served as lamb shank, was super tender. i found the room on the second floor large and comfortable with a great shower that looked recently refurbished.
