Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Guests consistently praise the clean and recently decorated rooms at The Crossing, particularly enjoying the spaciousness and comfortable beds, often mentioning the river view as a highlight. The homemade cookies are a much-appreciated touch, as are the Tassimo machine and Highland Soap Company products in the bathrooms. While some guests have noted occasional noise from neighboring rooms or self-closing doors, many appreciate the proximity to the railway station, the Badenoch Centre, and local shops, as well as the free car parking.

dim lighting poor soundproofing
I found a couple issues . the lighting in the room was quite dim. I really needed brighter lights for reading. also, the soundproofing wasn't great. i could hear conversations from the hallway, and it disrupted my sleep. it was a bit disappointing. the sound carried too easily. it. i think better sound insulation is important.

wonderful family stay

bedroom suite railway crossing kind staff baked cookies
I found the two bedroom suite accommodating for my family of five. my children enjoyed the level crossing right outside our window. They loved watching the trains pass. i appreciate the staff allowing us to use their fridge to store milk, as we left early before breakfast! the home-baked cookies were delicious.
The upper staircase was dangerous. It had a narrow tread and thick carpet. this was not a good combination, especially when carrying luggage. i also didn't like the bathroom being across an emergency exit.
Dining
9/10
Breakfast featured fresh, local ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the scottish options. the dining area had large windows, offering views of the surrounding landscape. coffee and tea were readily available throughout the morning service.
Location
8/10
The location provided easy access to walking trails and nearby attractions. the hotel was a short walk to local shops. This made it easy to pick up essentials. the area felt safe for walking at night, though it was a bit dark!

Really good Highland Getaway

lovely toiletries homemade cookies
My room was newly decorated and provided lovely toiletries. The shared lounge had a refrigerator and microwave, a great convenience. Breakfast each day included excellent options.. I appreciated the homemade cookies provided upon arrival.
The sound proofing was inadequate. I could hear people walking about in the room above, slightly disturbing.

The breakfast was acceptable (they had gluten-free options).
I was not happy about the noise levels. The walls seemed thin. I could hear people in adjacent rooms. This made it difficult to relax and sleep.
