Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Aultguish Inn is frequently chosen as a stopover, particularly for those exploring the Highlands, central to NC500 and areas like Ben Wyvis. Guests often find the rooms spacious, especially the courtyard and family rooms, with useful amenities like tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge; however, some guests have occasionally found standard rooms to be quite compact. The food is generally considered fabulous and plentiful, and the location, though near the A835, is usually quiet. the hotel is a good value for money for the area.

wrong sorbet hidden costs
the ice cream i ordered for dessert was a mess. i asked for two flavors, but one turned out to be sorbet (i really dislike sorbet). what bothered me even more was this random service charge of 10.01% added to the bill (i found that out after (it was never mentioned to me). i think they need to be upfront about extra costs.

Excellent Food and Helpful Staff

delicious food helpful staff packed lunch
The food was delicious and plentiful. Staff were cute and accommodating, and even prepared an early breakfast for our hiking day. They also kept the kitchen open late after our long hike and made us a packed lunch. The provided food was really appreciated.
The menu had limited options, and the initial order required confirmation of availability. My ice cream order was altered, and I received a sorbet in place of one flavor of ice cream. There was also an automatic service charge.

the location offers alright access to local attractions.
The 'superior' room was anything but. It was QUITE small. the bathroom was to have missed a cleaning, with hair still present on the shower walls. and heavens, the noise from neighboring rooms was excessive. I could hear entire conversations.

excellent food attentive staff unfriendly host cold room
The food was excellent. I tried the venison burger and it was very good. Staff were lovely and attentive to all needs. Breakfast was available nice and early which I appreciated.
The check in host was not very friendly. When I told the host the bathroom had a leak , made water ooze out of the floor they turned away. No compensation were offered and the room was very cold.
