Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Gretna Hall Hotel is often praised for its traditional wedding ceremony area and its beautifully decorated communal areas. Many guests appreciate the spacious and clean rooms, sometimes featuring patios, and find them well-equipped, with comfortable beds and good-sized showers. The hotel's location is convenient, close to the motorway, a short walk from Blacksmith's and the train station, and near Caledonia Park Shopping Outlet; however, some guests have noted noise from the nearby motorway. The breakfast, often featuring a full English or Scottish option, is generally considered amazing, and the food is so good; plus, dining in the hotel can come with a guest discount.

The check-in staff was helpful. They took my luggage and offered extra tea and biscuits. The room was clean and well equipped. It had a patio with a table and chairs (perfect for enjoying the weather!). The breakfast included cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and cooked items. Staff offered porridge and were helpful.
The room had opaque film on windows, so I could not see outside.

Romantic Stay Before Our Journey

traditional area well-equipped room english breakfast great location
The wedding ceremony area was very traditional. I found the room well-equipped with a nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet offered a full English breakfast. The choices were satisfactory. The hotel's location was great (a short walk from the train station!).
Rooms
9/10
The room featured lovely decor and felt spotlessly clean. It included a comfy bed, though it was two singles pushed together. This setup was adequate for a short stay.
Dining
10/10
Dinner in the restaurant was a highlight. The food was fantastic, especially the evening meal. The full scottish breakfast was great. My husband felt it was the best he had eaten for ages (especially the haggis).
