Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Inverkip Hotel offers a great bar area where guests enjoy a warm atmosphere, a selection of beers, and reasonably priced drinks, especially before catching a train from the nearby station. Dinner receives high praise, particularly the starters like fish and chicken skewers, although some diners have found the steak pie's pastry to be less than perfect. The spacious and clean rooms contribute to a comfortable stay, and the breakfast comes highly recommended; plus, there is off-street parking available.

Service issues and disappointing food.

slow service gristly meat
The room was clean, I guess.
The service was slow. I waited ages to be served even though it wasn't busy. The beef and ale pie was a joke. The pastry was soft and uncooked and the meat was gristly.

A Mixed Experience. Some Issues Noted

uncooked pastry slow service
The beef and ale pie was a disappointment. The pastry was soft and uncooked. Not flaky as expected. A significant portion of the meat was gristly. I also waited a long time to be served even though the restaurant wasn't busy.

Decent Stay With Some Issues

loud noise dusty equipment
The noise level in my room was difficult. I heard staff working in the bar late at night. I also noticed dust around the electrical equipment. This lack of attention to cleaning bothered me. The door rattled anytime someone walked past, it was a small issue.

a distinctly average stay

uncooked pastry gristly meat
The breakfast was timely and freshly prepared. A small mercy.
The beef and ale pie seemed like a culinary crime. the pastry was uncooked and soft and not flaky, just insulting. the meat had lots of gristle. I am unsure whether this place is a restaurant or a money laundering front.
