mixed feelings about the stay

noise level damp bathroom
The noise from the bar below kept me awake quite late. It was very disruptive. our bathroom had some damp issues, specifically, the wood panelling around the bath looked water-damaged and rather off-putting. the breakfast quality varied significantly. one morning, the bacon tasted strongly of vinegar. It was quite unpleasant and other guests also returned it to the kitchen. it was all disappointing.

lovely stay, minor snag

arran toiletries fast service
i really enjoyed how the room included robes and toiletries from arran. the breakfast had many choices and was served so fast. i found the location worked well. it was a simple drive into st andrews, maybe fifteen minutes at most.
i did notice some noise from the bar late into the evening. it came from below us in the room. hopefully, they can find a way to soundproof that area better.

romantic getaway

cosy room ample space lovely village
The room was cosy. and it offered ample space for us and our dog. i found a little fridge in the room. it contained milk and bottles of water. Tea and coffee facilities were also available. the food impressed me. i had fish pie accompanied by fresh greens. plus i tasted breaded haddock with salad chips and tartare sauce.
the only inconvenience i encountered was the need to exit the main building and cross a courtyard. this access to our room became slightly challenging during a downpour.

The staff displayed friendliness. They went beyond regular duties. they transported us to a wedding venue, saving us the trouble of hiring a taxi. this consideration definitely enhanced our stay, we loved it.

the staff was cute and friendly. a fridge was in the room to keep drinks cool. the food tasted delicious. the shower was huge and water was always hot. an amazing selection of hot drinks was available in the room.
the bathroom had some damp with exposed water damaged wood panelling on the bath
