Garvock House Hotel enjoys a reputation for its well-kept grounds and convenient location, making it easy to access attractions such as the Alhambra Theatre and even Edinburgh. Many guests appreciate the spacious rooms, some noting the generous 24m2 of space, along with the comfortable accommodations. charming scottish stay

attentive staff extensive choice attentive service
the staff were readily available and offered assistance. breakfast choices were extensive, service was very attentive, and food tasted superb! the grounds were well kept inside and outside with attentive staff, everything was sparkling!
the hot tap in the bathroom sink was very difficult to turn off. the sink itself has a large crack at the side facing the bath, that needs maintenance

Excellent Stay

comfortable room professional staff excellent dinner
The ground floor room met all my requests and was comfortable. Staff dealt with my queries efficiently and professionally. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent (I would say so!). I also recommended the hotel to friends because it's better value than staying in Edinburgh. I liked the beautiful setting of the hotel a lot.
The ladies' toilet next to the restaurant had a light out, and the small bin in the cubicle smelled bad. The loos also have a brown water streak down them. I hope the owners address the little things.
Rooms
8/10
The room included a comfortable bed and ample storage space. The bathroom was clean, however it had limited counter space around the sink. the room offered a functional and relaxing environment.
Location
9/10
The hotel is located near the town center and offers easy access to local attractions. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. The hotel is located within walking distance to key amenities.
Facilities
10/10
The hotel provides free parking . The dining area is spacious and well-kept. The hotel has a well-manicured garden to relax in, a real standout.

The staff was helpful, and the breakfast room was bright!
The room I booked, a Double Room, had wallpaper torn in places. The wallpaper sections did not match up, and there were water stains above the dressing table mirror. So tacky. the TV was a normal TV, not a smart TV. they wanted to charge £10 for DVDs.

A Stay with Some Issues

respectful staff helpful staff beautiful building missing outlets tea set non-refundable rate
The staff were very polite. They were very helpful. The building is very beautiful. The grounds looks well presented.
I find that there were no power outlets at the bedside tables. The housekeeping did not refill sugar for the tea set in the room once. I booked a non-refundable rate without breakfast.

Balanced experience at this hotel

double room generous size delicious food limited menu tiny pieces excessive wait
the room they gave me was a double room. it had generous size with shower & bath which i liked a lot. cleanliness looked perfect throughout my visit. the food i had was delicious and presented well, i must say.
i found the menu selection for lunch limited today. it had garvock burger or a cajon chicken burger and salad, disappointing. the salad looked cut into tiny pieces, and i could not tell what they were. i also waited nearly an hour for lunch, a time i found excessive.
