helpful staff vegan options chocolate biscuits
The staff was accommodating. They managed to prepare our room promptly, a gesture I appreciate. The breakfast selection was superb and the available vegan options, including the vegan haggis, were wonderful. The room had thoughtful freebies like tunnocks chocolate biscuits.
I found the entrance from the car park less than ideal. It was through a narrow, dingy corridor without clear signage to the restaurant.
Location
9/10
The hotel offers views towards the seafront that are captivating. Its proximity to the station, only five minutes away, offers easy access. The location is within walking distance of the harbour.
Service
10/10
The staff demonstrated friendliness and helpfulness at all times, so endearing. Shona, from housekeeping, proved helpful. The service in the restaurant.

Solid Seaside Stay

comfortable bed friendly staff great sea view
The family room had a great sea view. The bed provided comfort. The hotel restaurant's waiting staff were really friendly. I enjoyed the food I had.
The hotel showed minimal wear in the refurbished bathroom, with a chipped sink unit cupboard.
Dining
9/10
The hotel offers a two-course menu. It seems to offer tremendous value for money. Starters, mains, and desserts looked really good and well presented, though the bread on one dish had mould. The staff were available at all times.
Location

The hotel is situated by the sea. It has a view of ailsa craig and sits in proximity to the ferry. There is a vast beach in front of the building and a lovely promenade.

cheap sausages obstructed sea view
the breakfast was a little underwhelming. the sausages tasted cheap and the eggs were rubbery (a bit of a letdown after reading so many positive reviews). also, the promised sea view from my room was partially obstructed by a large tree. i realize they can't control nature, but it was still disappointing and impacted the overall experience, (especially for the price i paid).
