excellent stay at lochside

island base nice view friendly staff
i found the hotel location excellent as a base for exploring the island. the view at breakfast was nice. i appreciated the staff as they were very friendly and did assist with everything i asked for, i think they were really nice.
i found the hotel situated directly on the main road and traffic was constant. delivery vehicles arrived early and the traffic noise did disturb my rest a little.

i found both dinner and breakfast very good with friendly staff. the view from the restaurant was fabulous, with full windows showing the loch. i thought the breakfast offered a good range of choices.

the place was nice and clean with good facilities. i saw the extensive whiskey collection in the bar area, it was a great bonus. the hotel had lots of character and was most comfortable to move around.

Really good Islay Hotel Experience

wide variety comfortable bed
My room, a Superior Double or Twin Room Sea View, featured excellent views. Breakfast service included a wide variety of options and attentive staff, with efficient service. I thoroughly enjoyed the well-stocked bar with a range of local whiskies! The bed was comfortable, and I slept soundly each night.
The extractor fan noise early in the morning near the bedroom window was somewhat disruptive.

helpful staff great view
the breakfast had excellent service , and the staff was helpful. the dining room provided a great view of the water.

I stayed in a beautiful double or twin room city view. breakfast had excellent options. The staff was very attentive.
the constant traffic on the main road was slightly disruptive, especially in the early morning hours though I am a light sleeper.

small room noisy extractor
Breakfast was amazing. I was happy with that.
My room was quite small. There was almost no space to put anything. The bathroom sink was also half-sized and difficult to use. The shower even leaked all over the floor. It was not a great experience. An extractor outside my window made a lot of noise.

clean room loch view quick service cramped bathroom half sink noisy generator
my room was clean. i enjoyed the loch view from my window. the staff provided quick breakfast service, but the hotel was not full.
the bathroom felt cramped, and i find the half sink pretty useless. a generator or extractor made noise outside, and it started again around 6am. there werent space for my things in the bathroom.
